Axé sur trois piliers majeurs à savoir : le Commerce et Investissement, Infrastructures ainsi que les Mines et la Diplomatie, cet accord vise à renforcer la coopération bilatérale entre la République démocratique du Congo et les Emirats Arabes Unis. L’Accord de Partenariat Economique Global permet d’ouvrir le marché émirati à 6 000 produits d’origine congolaise et d’offrir des nouvelles opportunités aux entrepreneurs de la RDC, grâce à la baisse des droits de douane, à la sécurisation des transactions et à la lutte contre la contrebande. Les flux d’investissement attendus pourraient passer de 5 milliards de dollars américains à 10 milliards de dollars d’ici 2030.
Le mémorandum d’entente signé avec l’ONATRA concerne le projet du port en eaux profondes de Banana, initié par Félix Tshisekedi en partenariat avec DP World, qui vise à doter la RDC d’une infrastructure maritime majeure à Moanda. Le port comprend un quai de 600 mètres, une zone de stockage de 30 hectares et environ 450 000 conteneurs pour offrir un accès direct à la mer pour les grands navires.
La coopération entre les deux pays dans le secteur minier repose sur des enjeux stratégiques de traçabilité et de sécurisation des chaînes d’approvisionnement en minerais critiques adossées à des investissements coordonnés.
La RDC et les Emirats arabes unis ont signé également, un Protocole d’accord en matière diplomatique sur le renforcement de la collaboration entre l’Académie diplomatique de la RDC et l’Académie diplomatique Anwar Gargash des Emirats arabes unis en vue de faciliter le partage de connaissances, la coordination des programmes de formation, de recherches et d’événements diplomatiques.
